WED
Men's Bible Study by Zoom
7:30 AM to 8:30 AM
Topic: Max Lucado’s 1&2 Peter. What’s with Peter?

Persecution!
How did Peter respond to Persecution??

Max Lucado says, is his introduction:
“Begin with Peter’s survival manual. He understood persecution. Beaten and jailed. Threatened and punished. He knew the sting of the false word and the angry whip. No doubt he’d seen some Christians stand and others fall. He’d seen enough to know what it takes to stay strong in tough times.
His counsel may sustain you. It may be just what you need so that ‘the purity of your faith will bring you praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ is shown to you.”

Come join us!

We meet on Wednesday morning at 7:30 a.m. Presently, we’re meeting via Zoom, so you don’t even have to get out of your pajamas. Come with a cup of coffee and enjoy the study and fellowship.

Update:

Sullivan County 14-day moving average of new COVID cases is back up into the RED zone.  Based on the Reopening Guidelines agreed by Council in August, this means that we will continue with DRIVE-IN style worship until the 14-day average (a) drops below 17.4 AND (b) remains below 17.4 for at least 2 weeks (2 Sundays minimum).

Our #1 priority is lifting the name of God on high while keeping you safe. Please continue to pray with us for God’s continued guidance as we seek to safely worship each week.

VISION STATEMENT

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church is and will grow as an engaging and compassionate Lutheran worshipping community, grounded in the Word, where all are welcome to experience the grace and love of Christ through prayer, service and fellowship.

MISSION STATEMENT

Following Christ and our Vision, we promise to prayerfully live our faith in word and deed.  We commit ourselves and our gifts to God’s work of building, blessing and bringing in serving God’s people.  We challenge ourselves to focus on the needs of others, service to all and sharing God’s grace. When we do these things, we are Helping Transform Lives in Christ.

Our Motto —  Helping Transform Lives in Christ

HTLC is active in our community!

Serving lunch at the Salvation Army. Cooking and delivering meals for Meals on Wheels every week. We are a Family Promise host church every quarter. Summer VBS with extended hours to help out working families. Backpack drive each fall to provide backpacks and school supplies to homeless children in Kingsport City schools and Dickenson county, VA. Starting in November, we have our Socks & Undies Sundays to collect hats, gloves, underware and socks to provide for our homeless students program in the Kingsport City schools and Dickenson county, VA schools. We would love to have you come and volunteer in our many outreach programs!

Bible Studies at Holy Trinity are based on current and relevant life challenges in this rapidly changing world. How can you be your authentic self, follow God's calling to serve others with resources, confidence and compassion? Our study leaders prayerfully consider the topics and materials to help answer these questions. Together we grow spiritually stronger. Join us. Everyone is welcome!  Currently we are meeting safely by Zoom. E-mail the group leaders, the church office or you are welcome to call the church (423-247-9106) for more information.

UPDATES

Our recent Souper Bowl for Hunger on Supper Bowl Sunday this year was a SUPPER success. We delivered 261 lbs. of food to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Kingsport.

A couple of our HTLC families participated in this years "Trashercise" where volunteers collected more than 1.3 tons of trash during 24th annual Riverview cleanup event.

Holy Week 2021 services at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church was a moving and connecting experience for all of our HTLC members and visitors! From a rainy, chilly Palm Sunday to a snowy Maundy Thursday parking lot service that culminated in a glorious, sunny, beautiful and moving Easter Sunday parking lot service with drive-thru Holy Communion. God's presence was felt strongly as we gathered outside of our beautiful church to glorify his Son's resurrection.
