Description

Jesus' Entry into Jerusalem

As Jesus rode into Jerusalem, the people spread their coats in front of Him and greeted Him with palm branches.

Imagine a Sunday in spring around the year 30 or 33 A.D. The holy city of Jerusalem and pilgrims everywhere who would come for the annual Passover celebration. Jesus had spent many months traveling through towns and villages. There in those places Jesus preached about the kingdom of God. He healed the sick people. Now was the time to claim his title of Messiah - Here was the Savior God had promised to the Jewish people. Jesus knew that his mission was almost finished and as he traveled into Jerusalem he warned his disciples that he will be killed but that after three days he would rise again.
